May 2008 Winners: Corfe Mullen Cricket Club
“Corfe Mullen are the first winners of the team of the month for 2008. They were unbeaten throughout May and ended the month at the top of Division 1, their highest ever position in the Dorset Funeral Plan Cricket League. They received their award before their match against Sherborne on Saturday, which they lost. It seems that winning the award brings bad luck! The team were presented with a perpetual trophy by Peter Douch, a director of DFP.”

July 2006 Winners : Sherborne Cricket Club
The committee has decided to present the July team of the month award to Sherborne CC for their excellent results in July. It is several years since the Terrace team have graced the top division in Dorset but their consistancy this season is close to rewarding their rebuilding. The award was presented before their match at Marnhull which they needed to win to keep their noses in front of Stalbridge.
June 2006 Winners : Broadstone Cricket Club
The team of the month for June is Broadstone Cricket Club. During June they achieved a 100% haul of points in the Premier League during which time they consolidated their second position in the table.
However although the award is for a team it helped the judges in their decision when Broadstone 2nd XI gained 78 out of 80 points in Division 2 and the third team 39 out of 40 in Division 8. However it might be that there is a curse attached to the award given that all these teams lost last weekend!
The presentation of the award was made by Dorset Funeral Plan directors at the Delph on Saturday before the Premier League match against Parley.
May 2006 Winners : Colehill Cricket Club
The award recognises the efforts that Colehill have made this season having had so many players leave during the winter. Many of the current Premier league side could not have expected to be playing Premier league cricket in 2006 and they may have expected to be languishing at the bottom of the league. However an exceptional effort by club stalwart Stewart Hand and his team led to the team picking up points despite losing matches and then beating Parley to leave the club seventh in the league.
Stewart Hand was thrilled when he was informed that the club were the Dorset Funeral Plan Cricket League Team of the Month and indicated that the award was for all the players who stayed with the club. He was sure that it would be a boost to the club for the rest of the season.
